oh hey!

Word count: 0
Project: poD

I have the beginnings of a plot for the last poD book! This is exciting! And Adalee is an idiot! This would be the major 'climax' of the book, after all the SF exploration and Jaaren getting situated in his own little niche.

Against all advice and logic, Adalee busts in [somewhere] and returns a dragon raging Charmy because he's her baby. As she does so, another Charizard body slams her. Jidda has the presence of mind to throw some raw meat further away and distract them so she can drag an unconscious Adalee out.

Adalee ends up with a concussion, a few broken ribs, and a broken arm. She's out for awhile as ~technology~ goes to work on her (and requires surgery for the ribs? intubation? something requiring sedation).

Jaaren has to:
handle Charmy
update her babies
tell her parents/Dian/her bosses aside from Blaine--he does not tell Aaralyn

Lorelei sends Dian (excuses Dian is more like it) and since Lance can't get away from his Elite 4 job, he sends Evan in his stead. Dian, being a rookie, is more inclined to be horrified and sympathetic; Evan, however, smacks her upside the head on his and Lance's behalf but also tells her he understands. Evan leaves in a timely manner; Dian stays. Her parents can't be reached (out in the field somewhere).

Jaaren is inclined to be a basket case given the guys' presences and the enormity of it all, but he has the 12 or whatever of them to keep him in line and that he's the one she wants when she's hospitalized somehow keeps him going. He gives her Fluffball while she's stuck since Fluff has more control and he keeps Fuzz on him. Fuzzball has a major progression, wanting to learn things and becoming more self-confident.

Sunny is really nice but kind of distant--how did she become the intimidated party? Other than logic.

Dian stays with her at home post-hospital because Jaaren has to work and can't keep her from jeopardizing herself and take care of the lot at the same time.

Part of some freak out on Adalee's part: he's her baby; he's saved her so often; he goes to Sea Foam with her rather than stay on the island with Jaaren; he's not a brat to Dian when they're working; he's her baby

Charmy is very very gentle with her when she can finally see him again (when Jaaren breaks some rules to make it happen).

There is a Charizard casualty or two (it's a grisly scene before Blaine & co. can get in and forcibly return them).

Adalee is completely unrepentant, even if it gets her in trouble; Lance approves of the heart involved but wants her to understand how incredibly stupid she was.

Female goes into heat to trigger it?
