Okay, so maybe these scenes with Adalee and Dian brainstorming new strategies and exploiting technique and social conditioning are not strictly necessary. But they are really fun for me to write, and it does really help with the characterization and relationship-building, so whatevs, it's justified to me, and I'm the only one that matters.
