Agni, Jal, Vayu, and Prithvi are the results of the original spirits hooking up in their vessels. In terms of hierarchy, they're on par with Lords and Ladies. The fiends are analogous to sprites in that they are essentially magical residue--thus the proportional strength. Brooke and Del's little accident is a purely human thing, so Vayu isn't getting a brother.

Chailyn can't stand Brooke. Ren is off-kilter from seeing Callie and Jonah and understanding that Lani and Sky are no more, on top of being exhausted, but Nick recognizes enough and is old enough to tell Chailyn that he misses Hallie. Chailyn steals control long enough to hug him. Brooke is pissed that she missed out on the opportunity.

Callie and Jonah aren't so bad, but they're twisted a bit by Brooke and Del (who also wouldn't have been so bad if he had been paired with someone like Hallie). Thyra and Makan, however, never did bond too tightly with Lani and Sky so they're more interested in the new pair.

Hallie was the first success story and she/competition drove Nick and Ren to quit being little punks and cooperate. She was kind of the 'leader.'
