more nano gems

Word count:
Project:

Ana and Adam’s Fighting Pandas won the game in the end, pulling out a somewhat boring fourth quarter after pounding the fear of the echelon into the hapless other team and generally appearing to play, for some cruel reason, Saint Katherine’s Girls’ School for the Blind and Deaf. They drifted out with everyone else, with numb faces and hands. Adam still wasn’t ready to forgive Ana for passing on the cheerleader remark, but he was plenty willing to worry about her pissing off a Calisse.

---

She only just remembered to play along and not look like a deer in the headlights getting molested by the car instead of splattered.

He looked at the hair hanging over his fingers again. Maybe that final solution was the best solution. Besides. Didn’t love justify everything in the end, anyway?

Ana didn’t want to be a fairytale, though. She was smart like that.

--

So what, do I just… sit here with this thing and wait for him to come back? What am I so scared of?

She paused.

Well, gee, Ana, I don’t know, how about getting turned into a blood sucking sex slave of your classmate’s?

She scooted back against the wall and got comfortable with her little fireball. Most high maintenance security blanket ever. She just hoped that it didn’t set off the fire alarm.
